Mehtap Söyler is an assistant professor at the İzmir Katip Çelebi University. She received her PhD in Political Science from the Berlin Graduate School of Social Sciences at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin’s Department of Social Sciences, where she taught comparative politics and international relations. Prior to attending the BGSS, she did a B.Sc. in International Relations at the Middle East Technical University, an M.A. in International Politics of the European Union at the Marmara University and a joint M.A. in Contemporary European Studies at the University of Bath, Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her research interests include political methodology, democratization, institutionalism, civil-military relations, and Turkish politics.
